About the Artist
Lynne Brown
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my art. My husband, Joe Bircher is also an artist and we share a studio we call “the shed” in Winston-Salem, North Carolina which is why we named our fine art business Shed Art.
Making art brings me joy and I am delighted when my art resonates with people and they feel a connection to it. An early memory of mine is my third grade art teacher asking me to make signs for the girls' and boys' bathrooms. She was pleased with what I created and it made me very happy.
To start may career in art, I studied fine art at the University of Missouri in Kansas City where I am from, before attending and graduating from the Art Institute of Atlanta in graphic design. As commercial art and design developed into what it is now, I developed web and digital design skills.
With life changes, I have been able to devote myself to my fine art practice with a focus on florals as the subject. I particularly enjoy painting flowers in an abstracted way. It is very meditative for me. I seek to capture the experience of encountering flowers, their essence in color and form. That is the impression I hope people have when viewing and living with my floral abstract paintings.
