In focusing on the Reynolds tobacco warehouse, Bailey Power Plant and old industrial district of Winston-Salem, my intention was to transform my photos of the depreciating blight into a more dynamic and aesthetic visual story. The iconic smoke-stack tower and its surrounds are currently in a phase of transition and I was interested in capturing the imagery in mixed-media collage.
I am also interested in art shows and exhibiting my work, and the work of other artist. I was pleased to be able to curate an exhibit around these works with five other artists, called Critical Juncture in the fall of 2012. My works and similarly themed works by artists Brian Kubecki, Duncan Lewis, Richard Phillips, Haydee Thompson, and Caleb Williams were on exhibit at the Moustach Gallery of Krankies Coffee Bar in Winston-Salem.
